About TAIMU

The Textile Association (India) Marathwada unit (TAIMU) Nanded is established in 1975. Technokrats working in TEXCOM unit (under Marathwada Development Corporation limited MIDC Nanded) had formation and foundation of the TAIMU. The unit was flourished during working period of Nanded textile mills, TEXCOM and cooperative spinning Mill Wajegaon in 1990s. Life members were around 200 during 90s. Later on due to closure of these mills, TAIMU was shifted to Department of Textile technology, Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology Nanded in 1998.
Presently TAIMU has networking with local industry, power looms in Wasmat and Purna Global Textile park and co-operative spinning Mills in Marathwada. New governing committee for the period 2019-21 has declared in December 2019. The alumina of the Textile Department of SGGSIET Nanded have been nominated on the Governing Committee. Recently the unit has organised Textile Industry Institute Meet, Marathwada Vastra Udyojak baithak and Expert lectures. TAIMU has a vision to play a vital role for the growth of textile industry and education in the Maharashtra state in the coming period.
